Admirals - Campbell River (Full version)
Well I've never been to Campbell river but I'm kinda sure
That it must look like heaven since that's where you're from
And I know I only saw once your face so pure
But I wish I could have held you to your prom
Oh black bird, remember this evening
When we'd whisper for no reason at all
I would have given you all my loving
With my guitar that still weeps to your name for which
I'd
still fall
And now things ain't what they used to be
Even though they were not meant to work out for me
Don't worry I'm alright now, I ain't gonna cry
Since you'll always be by me, til I die.
I wish I could get back to this evening in high school
Dancing to wish you were here, I was such a fool
I know I better run, run like hell
To hear you sing the softly spoken magic spell
Say, Sugar Pie, do you recall the trip we planned
That we said that we'd spend it hand in hand?
Don't worry, Sugar Pie, it's not too late
When midnight rings I'll still wish you “Happy Today” !
Well I've never been to Campbell river, nor am I a hero
Or an opera singer or some kind of famous maestro
And I didn't write the music for Lucy in the sky
But still wish we could have played our great gig that high
And now things ain't what they used to be
But now I know that they were meant to work out for me
Don't worry I'm better now, I'm following a new light
And trying to keep it by me, til I die
